Privacy & quality

All processing happens entirely in your browser — your photos are never uploaded to any server. The stamped image is rendered at the original pixel dimensions using an HTML5 Canvas. JPEG output uses 98% quality, PNG and WebP are lossless or near-lossless.

Tips

  • If no EXIF data is found (e.g. screenshots, heavily processed images), the stamp fields will show as empty. Use the toggles to hide empty fields.
  • The Film style works especially well on monochrome or high-contrast photos.
  • For sharing on Instagram, position the stamp at the bottom to keep the subject area clean.
  • For portrait shots, use the Left or Right position to run the stamp vertically along the edge.

FAQ

Does this tool upload my photos anywhere?

No. Everything runs locally in your browser using JavaScript and the HTML5 Canvas API. Your photos never leave your device.

Why is no EXIF data showing?

EXIF data is only embedded in photos taken with a camera or phone. Screenshots, images downloaded from social media, and heavily edited exports often have EXIF stripped. The tool reads JPEG/TIFF EXIF segments directly — if the file has no Exif APP1 block, no metadata will be found.

Will the download lose quality?

No. JPEG files are re-encoded at 98% quality, which is visually indistinguishable from the original. PNG files are saved losslessly. WebP files are saved at 98% quality.

Can I choose which fields appear on the stamp?

Yes. Each field (Camera, Aperture, Shutter, ISO, Focal Length) has an individual toggle checkbox above the preview. Uncheck any field to hide it from the stamp. The lens name is shown automatically alongside the camera name when present in the EXIF data.

What is the Film stamp style?

It mimics the look of film border metadata printed on developed film strips — a solid dark bar with gold monospace text. It works well for black-and-white photography or any shot with a cinematic feel.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. The tool is fully responsive. On mobile, use the browser's file picker to select a photo from your camera roll.
