🔒 This tool runs entirely in your browser — your files are never uploaded to any server.

Spin the Wheel is a browser-based random picker that turns any decision into a fun, visual moment. Add your options — up to 20 — give the wheel a spin, and watch it slow down to reveal the winner. No installs, no sign-ups, and nothing is sent to a server.

    Tool interface

    • Options list — type an option in the input field and press Enter or click the + button to add it. Each option appears in the list with a colour-coded dot matching its wheel slice. Click the × next to any item to remove it, or use Clear all to start fresh.
    • Wheel — updates in real time as you add or remove options. Each slice is labelled and colour-coded. The red pointer at the top marks the landing position.
    • Spin! button — starts the animated spin. The wheel decelerates smoothly over about 4 seconds. When it stops, the winner is displayed below.
    • After spinning, the button becomes Spin again! so you can re-spin the same list as many times as you like.

Default options loaded on first visit: Pizza, Sushi, Burger, Tacos, Salad, Pasta — replace them with anything you need.

    Common use cases

    • Dinner decisions — "What should we eat tonight?" — add your options and let the wheel choose
    • Game nights — pick which game to play, which team goes first, or assign roles
    • Classroom — call on a random student or assign topics fairly
    • Giveaways and contests — enter participant names and spin for a winner
    • Team decisions — pick a task owner, prioritise a backlog item, or choose a meeting facilitator
    • Travel planning — can't decide where to go? Spin the destination wheel

    FAQ

How many options can I add?

Up to 20. Below 2 the Spin button stays disabled — you need at least 2 options for a meaningful random choice.

    Is the result truly random?

Yes. The total spin distance is randomised (6–10 full rotations plus a random extra angle), so the landing position cannot be predicted or influenced.

Can I spin the same list multiple times?

Yes. After each spin, click Spin again! to spin the same list. The result will be independently random each time — the same option can come up twice in a row.

Does the wheel remember my options?

Options are stored only in memory for the current browser session. Refreshing the page resets the wheel to the default food list. To save a list, note it down before leaving.

What happens if an option name is too long?

Names longer than 16 characters are truncated with an ellipsis on the wheel slice to keep the text readable. The full name is shown in the list on the left and in the result.
