Tips for a great menu

  • Keep item names short and clear — long names wrap awkwardly on narrow canvas sizes.
  • Use the description field for allergy notes, key ingredients, or preparation style.
  • For social media, the 4:5 and 9:16 formats use a larger base font (18 px) so text is always readable on mobile screens.
  • The PNG download uses 2× pixel density, so even the A4 output is sharp enough for home printing at 150+ DPI.

Need a PDF?

Download your menu as a PNG first, then convert it instantly with the PNG to PDF converter. The converter accepts the full-resolution PNG and produces a PDF sized to match, with no re-compression or quality loss.

FAQ

Can I print the downloaded menu directly?

Yes. The A4 canvas (794 × 1123 px) downloaded at 2× scale produces a 1588 × 2246 px image, which prints cleanly at A4 size on most home and office printers. For press-quality printing, convert the PNG to PDF first.

How do I change the currency symbol?

Edit the Currency field in the top row. You can enter any text up to 4 characters — $, , £, , kr, or any prefix you prefer. Prices will update in the preview instantly.

Is my menu data saved anywhere?

No. Everything stays in your browser — no data is sent to any server. If you refresh the page, unsaved changes will be lost, so download your PNG before closing the tab.

Can I add more than one menu section?

Yes, there is no limit. Use the + Add section button to add as many sections as you need (Starters, Mains, Desserts, Drinks, Specials, etc.). Sections can also be deleted individually with the × button on each section header.

Why does the preview look small?

The preview is scaled down to fit your screen using CSS transform: scale(). The actual canvas dimensions are full-size (e.g. 794 px wide for A4). The downloaded PNG will always be at the correct full resolution regardless of how the preview appears.

Which theme works best for social media?

The Modern theme (dark background, amber text) and Elegant theme (dark green with gold) tend to perform well on Instagram because they have strong contrast and a dramatic look at small screen sizes. The 4:5 Portrait size is the recommended format for Instagram feed posts.
