PNG to PDF is a browser-based tool that converts PNG images into a PDF document. It accepts PNG files only, making it the right choice when working with screenshots, diagrams, interface mockups, or artwork that uses transparency. All processing happens locally in your browser — files are never sent to a server.

Tool interface

The interface is straightforward:

  • A drag-and-drop upload area for PNG files
  • A file list with reorder controls to set the page sequence
  • A page size selector: Fit to image, A4 Portrait, or Letter Portrait
  • A Convert & Download button to process and save the PDF
  • A Clear option to start over

Tool description

PNG to PDF embeds each PNG image into the PDF without re-encoding. PNG is a lossless format, and the conversion preserves that — no pixel data is altered, no colours are degraded, and no compression artifacts are introduced.

Transparency is handled cleanly: any transparent or semi-transparent areas in the PNG are rendered against a white background in the PDF. This is the standard expectation for PDF viewers, which do not support arbitrary alpha channels in the way images do.

Page size options:

  • Fit to image: Each page matches the PNG dimensions exactly.
  • A4 Portrait: PNGs are scaled to fit within A4 margins, centred on the page.
  • Letter Portrait: PNGs are scaled to fit within US Letter margins, centred on the page.

Some practical use cases:

  • Converting UI screenshots into a PDF report or walkthrough
  • Exporting Figma, Sketch, or design tool mockups as a PDF
  • Packaging diagrams, flowcharts, or architecture charts for sharing
  • Turning annotated screenshots into a structured document

How to use

  1. Drop PNG files onto the upload area, or click Browse to select them.
  2. Use the reorder arrows to set the page sequence.
  3. Select a page size.
  4. Click Convert & Download to generate the PDF.

Tip: If your PNG has a transparent background, the resulting PDF page will show a white background in that area. This is standard PDF behaviour.

FAQ

Only PNG files are accepted?

Yes. This tool works exclusively with PNG images. For JPEG files use JPG to PDF; for WEBP use WEBP to PDF. To combine multiple formats, use the Image to PDF tool.

Does converting PNG to PDF reduce image quality?

No. PNG images are embedded without re-encoding — the lossless quality of the source image is fully preserved in the PDF.

How is transparency handled?

Transparent areas in the PNG are rendered against a white background in the PDF. The alpha channel is composited before embedding.

Can I reorder the pages?

Yes. The up/down arrows in the file list let you arrange images in any order before converting.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. All conversion happens locally in your browser. PNG files never leave your device.

What page size should I choose?

Use "Fit to image" to preserve the exact pixel dimensions of each PNG. Use A4 or Letter if you need the output to conform to a standard document size.
