How to Use
Select a duration (15, 30, 60, or 120 seconds), click the passage area, and start typing. The timer begins on your first keystroke. Correct characters turn green and mistakes turn red. Press Backspace to fix errors — the cursor moves back but the error count never decreases.

How is WPM calculated?
WPM equals the number of correctly typed characters divided by 5 (the standard word length), divided by elapsed time in minutes. Only correct keystrokes count toward WPM — mistakes reduce your score.
Does Backspace reduce the error count?
No. The error count tracks total wrong keystrokes made during the test. Backspace lets you visually correct a mistake, but the original error is already counted.
What happens when the passage ends before time runs out?
The test finishes immediately when you reach the last character. Your WPM is calculated using the actual elapsed time, not the full duration, so finishing early gives an accurate score.
Is the tool free and does it require an account?
