How to Use
Drop one or more PDF files onto the upload area, or click Browse to select them. Once loaded, type your watermark text — CONFIDENTIAL, a company name, a URL, or any short string. Adjust opacity (5–60%), font size (14–120 pt), color, and rotation angle (0–90°). Click Apply & Download to process. For a single file, the watermarked PDF downloads immediately. For multiple files, all processed PDFs are packed into a ZIP archive automatically.
Watermark Options Explained
The Opacity slider controls how visible the text is on the page — lower values produce a subtle background stamp, higher values make it more prominent. Font Size scales the text relative to the page; larger values fill more of the page area. The Color picker sets the text color. The Angle slider rotates the watermark diagonally (45° is the most common convention for draft or confidential marks). All options apply uniformly to every page of every uploaded PDF.
Batch Processing
You can load up to 15 PDF files in one session. Files are processed sequentially in the browser using the pdf-lib library, so memory usage stays low even for multi-page documents. Progress is shown during processing ("Processing 3 of 8…"). When all files are ready, the tool generates a ZIP archive with one output file per input, each named originalname-watermark.pdf. You can also add more files after the initial upload using the + Add more button.
Privacy & Security
No data is transmitted to any server. All processing happens client-side using JavaScript running in your browser tab. Once you close the tab, nothing is retained. This tool is safe to use with sensitive or confidential documents.
FAQ
How many PDF files can I watermark at once?
Up to 15 PDF files per session. If you have more, you can clear the current batch and load a new set after downloading.
Does the watermark appear on every page?
Yes. The watermark is applied to every page of every uploaded PDF, centered and rotated according to the angle you set.
Can I use this with password-protected PDFs?
The tool attempts to open PDFs with ignoreEncryption: true, which works for many read-protected documents. Strongly encrypted PDFs that require a password to open will return an error.
Is the watermark permanent?
The watermark is embedded in the PDF content, but it is not cryptographically tamper-proof. A skilled user could potentially remove it with a PDF editor. For purely visual marking (drafts, confidential notices), this is sufficient.
Does the original file get modified?
No. The tool reads your original file and generates a new, separate PDF with the watermark applied. Your source file is never altered.
What happens to my files after processing?
Nothing — your files never leave your browser. Once the download completes, no copy of the file or its contents is stored anywhere on any server.
